“I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way--things I had no words for.”

The Fairy Tip-Toes Quilt

The Fairy Tip-Toes Quilt, sophisticated yet whimsical. Created with Fairy Tip-Toes fabric in chocolate by Tina Givens, a unique adaptation of the traditional quilt panel. Fairies dance and fly around along with cupcakes, baby chicks, spotted beetles, flowers and chandeliers. Bound with dark brown dotted fabric to frame the eclectic quilt design. Backed with wide strips of more Tina Givens fabric in brown and purple. Batting is 100% Warm and White. Machine quilted around each of the blocks and ovals within the panel. Washed with mild soap and tumbled dry for that crinkly soft touch. Measures 42" x 34.5". A generous snuggle sized quilt for the crib, couch or carry along! In the shop.

Meadowsweet - Basking in Luscious Color!

Oh, how I love Sandi Henderson's fabrics. Luscious is the work that comes to mind when I think of them. Today I created a few more items for Mama Roux Home Accents using these lovely fabrics. They actually make my mouth water just looking at them! Scrumptious!

The Quilted Hipster

My scraps were getting out of hand, fabric AND batting! I wanted to find a way to put them to good use. It was actually fun dumping out my scrap bin and sorting everything. I had LOTS of small, beautiful pieces of fabric. It was good to see them again and remembering what was originally created with each piece. These Quilted Hipsters are basically little quilts on a strap. I assembled tiny, little quilt sandwiches with batting and backed them with muslin. Quilted with a simple wavy design. I used mostly warm, fall-ish colors to give the Hipsters a cozy vibe. Big and roomy, the perfect Autumn accessory! In the shop!

Autumn Color - Sew and Tell

As much as I love the bright colors of summer I realize I need to veer my attention towards the warm and toasty colors of Autumn. I created these bags to kick off the season. The Quilted Hipster is a new design for me and a way to use those small pieces of batting left over from quilts. Both bags are in the shop!

The Chartreuse Quilted Hipster, with one large interior pocket and a magnetic snap closure. created with a patchwork of lime green linen, Amy Butler Lotus and Midwest Modern and Joel Dewberry Deer Valley. A little quilt on a strap!

The Autumn Lily Tote , with one large interior pocket and a magnetic snap closure. Created with Amy Butler Lotus and Valori Wells Del Hi.
