Easter Week in My Kitchen :: Blog Hop

There was some good cooking going on in my kitchen this last weekend! Since our 4 kids are all grown we don't really celebrate Easter as we once did with dyed eggs, baskets, egg hunts, candy, etc... but I still like to make an Easter-ish dinner for the once a year pure pleasure of eating homemade scalloped potatoes...YUM!!

Two of my favorite cookbooks

 Gratin Dauphinois...be still my heart!

 A lazy Sunday for Jack

The obligatory sink full of soapy dishes

The sponge

The challah dough ready to be kneaded

Topped with a bit of thyme from the garden.

Mandarin Honey butter...squeal!!

Marinating the tri tip. (Hubby does not like lamb). I'm nothing if not accommodating.

 WOW...just wow!

Happiness is a loaf of fresh baked bread....

...AND juicy tri-tip!

French toast the next day, mmmmm.

I also made chili during the week and snapped this photo of Jack in his usual place while I'm in the kitchen, he likes to keep an eye on me in case I drop anything tasty on the floor, silly boy!

I'm joing Heather and the gang for This Week in My Kitchen Blog Hop. Head on over and take a look what's going on over there. See you next week, if not sooner. Thanks for stopping by!
