Zoo Bop Quilt

I'm branching out and trying to create more children's quilts since they are so colorful and pretty quick to make. When I saw the assorted Menagerie Fabrics by Pink Light Designs for Robert Kaufman I knew I had to use them for some fun and funky kids quilts.

I cut the print with black and white assorted animals on lime green background in 6 " squares and used a variety of designer fabrics to frame them. I used several Ta Dot fabrics, Kona solids and even some Flea Market Fancy and framed the whole thing with Ready, Set, Snow by Me and My Sister Designs.

I backed it Cozy Cotton Flannel in Diamond Green. Quilted in my favorite meandering design. Measures 44" x 40".

Such a bright and happy quilt!

Whirleygig

I recently made a sweet baby girl quilt with my new Flea Market Fancy fabrics! I added an assortment of various fabrics from other lines to mix things up a bit.

I stayed with the grey/red/pink/peach colors and threw in some Anna, Amy, Sandi and more Denyse. Such a sweet quilt without being too sugary.

I used a cool grey and white polka dot for the binding and backed it with one solid piece of LouLouThi flannel, sooo soft and snuggly!

I quilted it in my favorite meandering design. Measures 31" x 41", perfect for the crib or on the go! In the shop!

An Afghan for Lucca

I finally finished the three small Afghans for my three little grandsons. Since I'm fairly new to crochet they all have quaint little "quirks" about them, signs of a beginner crocheter! Lucca's afghan seemed to have turned out a bit more symmetrical than the other two so it is the one I'm showing. I used a half double crochet and basic acrylic yarn (Vanna's Choice), since it's sturdy, washable and should withstand the abuse of wild little boys! I used different colors for each afghan and finished them with a scalloped edging.

I had the brilliant idea to add the boys names to each one and started (and ended) with Lucca's. I attempted to couch freehand and this is what I ended up with. It's way harder than I had expected.

I'll just tell Lucca that I was nipping at the cooking sherry while working on his name...it looks like the work of someone that's been hittin' the hooch! I decided that I will forgo adding the other names until I have practiced a bit...and stopped nipping at the cooking sherry!

I never imagined that new fabric lines would be accompanied by kicky music videos. I hope to see more creative videos introducing fabulous new fabric lines...how fun is this?
