A Quilt for Annie

A sweet little baby quilt for a sweet new little baby.
Created with Anna Maria Horner's Folksy Flannel (sooo soft!),
a bit of Innocent Crush, and a touch of Tina Givens.
Baby's name embroidered on the bottom edge.
I cut the binding strips at 4" which resulted in a nice 7/8"
finished binding which I highly recommend!
It was so easy to attach and I like how it frames the quilt nicely.
Simple, large patchwork squares with a border of Village Pathway in Plum
Small crib sized (I forgot to measure it before I sent it off, oops!)
and the perfect size for the stroller when she's on the go.
Welcome to the world Annie Jayne!

A Sweet Treat - Mango Shortcake

Mango Shortcake

Fresh, ripe Mangos

Poundcake, Greek vanilla yogurt and a drizzle of Honey

Quick and easy and so dang yummy!
A cup of hot tea (or a tall glass of iced tea) and you're ready for a nice mid-day break..."sigh".

When Rabbit said "honey or condensed milk with your bread?' Pooh was so excited that he said 'Both', and then, so as not to seem to greedy, he added, 'But don't bother with the bread, please." - A.A Milne

Crochet Hip Purses (and a Giveaway!)

I recently taught myself to crochet. Several of my friends are knitters and yarn is their "thang". I wanted to join the fun but was not quite ready to step into the knitting pool so I started crocheting. I LOVE it. It has even brought my teen-aged daughter and I closer as now I can join her on the couch while she watches her very favorite, quality, educational programs (16 and Pregnant, The Kardashians, Jersey Shore, oh my...). I sit there and completely tune-out the TV and I crochet away... (Ok, I might peek at the TV a tiny bit, I'm so ashamed!)

These sweet Crochet Hip Purses are a blast to make. The color combos are all different and very vibrant. I've given a few away to friends to get their feedback: Here's what my pal, Jilly-Jill has to say:

- Have it and LOVE it! It's perfect for a small wallet, cell phone and keys. Nice job Nina!!

Ain't she sweet?
